Billiards Industry Outlook

In its role as the trade organization for the billiards industry, the BCA is committed to helping your business grow by keeping tabs on market trends, conducting surveys and compiling important data. Making pool everybody's game is everybody's business ... and the BCA is here to help you succeed!

Billiards Industry Trends Report

Based on membership demand, the Billiard Congress of America developed and conducted the Billiard Industry Trends Report. The Trends Report, which launced in March of 2008, is offered free of charge to BCA members. It provides actionable information about how the billiard industry performs year-to-year.

The Trends Report provides two main items to members:

  • It will show how the overall industry is performing.
  • It will show how each participating BCA member performs compared to similar BCA members.

Sample reports are available at the following links:

Here is how the program works:

  • Each BCA member will be provided with a secure login and password information.
  • On a quarterly schedule, BCA members will login and answer a series of short business questions that take about five (5) minutes to complete.
  • The information will be gathered and analyzed.
  • Each participating BCA member will be mailed a free, personalized Trends Report that looks like a bank statement – with graphs detailing specific things:
    • How the member performed during the period, compared to other similar BCA members; and
    • How the whole billiard industry performed during the period.

Other program details:

  • Ellison Research, a neutral research firm, will collect the information using secure and confidential practices. No private information will ever be disclosed to the BCA or any other party, as all responses will remain secure and confidential.  Ellison Research will be responsible for the following items:
    • Providing the neutral (secure) Web site to collect the information;
    • Providing the login and password information to each BCA member;
    • Gather and analyze the information;
    • Creating the personalized report for each participating BCA member; and
    • Mailing the personalized report to each participating BCA member.

  • The BCA is only sponsoring the program for members; we will not be involved nor will we ever receive any member information.
  • BCA member information will be secure and confidential – it will never be released to any other party.
  • The program is free for BCA members.

The Trends Report provides BCA members with actionable information about how their business performs to other similar BCA members. This will allow BCA members to learn and apply the information to strengthen and improve their business.

More information about the Trends Report will be shared. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Shane Tyree, BCA communication coordinator , at shane@bca-pool.com or 303.243.5070.
